Grommets are small tubes inserted into the eardrum to ventilate the middle ear and drain any fluid build-up.
Indications include recurrent ear infections, or hearing loss due to persistent middle ear fluid – sometimes called “glue ear”.
The procedure can be safely done in the rooms under local anaesthetic in adults, or under general anaesthesia in children.
