How do I make an appointment with Dr Basson?
Please call our rooms on 021 200 5848 or email us at reception@earnosethroat.co.za
Does Dr Basson see children and babies?
Yes. She worked as a specialist consultant at Red Cross War Memorial for four years, and is even more practically qualified because she is a mum of three.
Does Dr Basson do surgery?
Yes. She operates at Life Kingsbury Hospital in Claremont, and at the Sport Science Day Hospital in Newlands.
Does Dr Basson work with medical aids?
Dr Basson runs a private practice. Patients settle for consultations on the day and submit the invoice to their medical aid for refund. Accounts for surgical procedures are submitted to medical aids. The patient does remain liable for that amount should medical aid decline payment, or if there is a shortfall.
Do I need a referral to see Dr Basson?
No, you do not need a referral, unless your medical aid requires this. However, if you have seen a doctor, or had any special investigations (eg hearing test), please bring any letters, prescriptions, medication, or results you were given. As long as you know the place where you had your X-rays or scans, those results can be accessed online.
How can I see Dr Basson at short notice?
We try to accommodate patients as quickly as possible. If you feel that your problem is urgent but you cannot get an appointment at short notice, your GP or referring doctor can discuss this with Dr Basson.
Where are you situated?
The practice is in the Kingsbury Hospital complex in Claremont: Room 504, Kingsbury Medical Suites, 23 Wilderness Road, Claremont (see our “Contact” page for the map)
