Bone-conducting implants are used for conductive, mixed, and single-sided hearing loss.
They work by transmitting sound vibrations through the skull directly to the inner ear, bypassing the external ear canal and middle ear.
The implants are made of two parts, one embedded in the bone under the scalp, just behind the ear; and the other worn externally, connected magnetically to the implant.
